What do you do at OPS?
My primary position is School Psychologist, but I'm also fortunate enough to coordinate our Special Olympics team.
What's your favorite part about working at OPS?
The staff. We have an amazing group of talented and dedicated people.
What's your favorite thing to do when you're not at work?
Ride my bike. Go Team 360!
What's your most memorable moment on the job?
One year, on the last night of Special Olympics in Stillwater, one of my graduating athletes told me how much he was going miss the team. At the end of our conversation, he thanked me and said, "Coach, we've had a good ride." I've known him since early elementary, and when I see him in the community, his smile still lights up my day.
Do you live in Owasso? Where are you from?
I grew up in Bixby, but I've been in Owasso for 25 years.
Do you have a favorite food?
What's your favorite dessert?
My mother-in-law's pie. Anybody who has had a Joan Oliver pie knows what I'm talking about.
Pepsi or Coke? Why?
Neither. I'm not a pop drinker.
If you could travel anywhere for a vacation, where would it be?
New Zealand (or pretty much anywhere I can hike or bike).
What is one thing you do for yourself every day?
Find something to laugh about and something to be grateful for.
Would you rather watch TV or read a book?
Neither really. I'm not very good at sitting still that long.
What's your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Pay It Forward. It has such a great message.
What are three things you couldn't live without?
My husband and two daughters. They are what make my world work.
Tell me about your family.
I have an awesome husband and two incredible daughters. My 26-year-old works for child nutrition, and my 22-year-old is in her first year as a special education teacher. We are a "Ram Pride" family!
Do you have any pets?
We have a long-hair miniature dachshund. She's a spoiled rotten mess.
What's your favorite holiday?
Christmas. It's a busy time, but that's the one time of year families manage to get everybody together at one time.
What's your favorite season and why?
Spring and Fall. The weather is always great for being outdoors.
Do you have a unique or unusual talent?
It's not really unique or unusual, but I love to quilt.
What's your guilty pleasure?
I can't believe I'm admitting this, but I love The Bachelor franchise. It's always good for a laugh.
What are three words to describe yourself?
Family-oriented, active and compassionate.
