PCSO throws birthday bash for homebound teenager
Casa Grande Dispatch - 8/29/2017
FLORENCE - The Pinal County Sheriff's Office wanted to make sure Jacob Priestley's 15th birthday was one he would never forget.
Jacob, of Mesa, was treated to a special birthday celebration at PCSO headquarters in Florence Friday, beginning with watching a sheriff's helicopter land. Priestley is mostly homebound due to conditions including mitochondrial disease, ADHD and autism, but he enjoys learning about law enforcement. According to PCSO, the office was contacted by a local school that informed them about Jacob's condition, including that he is unable to attend class because of medical problems. PCSO responded by throwing him a birthday bash, including fulfilling his wish of receiving many cards.
Among the presents and surprises that awaited Jacob at the party were PCSO merchandise, the opportunity to handle some collectible firearms, a visit to the firing range and being sworn in as a member of the sheriff's posse.
Priestley was joined for his special birthday party by his brother Tyler and his mother, Britney.
