YPD, York Circle K partner for 'Fueling Dreams' fundraiser
YORK - On Sept. 9, the York Police Department in conjunction with the York Circle K will be pumping gas for the Special Olympics "Fueling Dreams" fundraiser. York Police officers will be there from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to pump gas for customers. Circle K has agreed to donate .05 cents of every gallon to be donated to Special Olympics Maine.
Please stop by to say hello to support Special Olympics. Aside from the money donated by Circle K, officers will be accepting donations as well which goes directly to Special Olympics Maine.
Special Olympics' Mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

York Hospital Hospice offers free grief support group
YORK - York Hospital Hospice is offering a free support group for anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. The group meets weekly on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Ellis Conference Room at York Hospital. The support group is facilitated by social worker Julie Weiss.
This is an ongoing group and it is open to the public. It is designed to help anyone who has lost a loved one learn about the grief process, share their experience, and support each other in a facilitated group environment. Sessions are tailored to meet the group's needs and will cover many difference topics including grief, loss and healing.
