Autism training offered at Sauk; one session is free

DIXON ? Registration is due Wednesday for Kreider Services autism training, to be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m.April 12, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.April 13 in the cafeteria at Sauk Valley Community College.
On April 12, Chantal Sicile-Kira from San Diego will present "More than Just Coping: Empowering Strategies for Parents," which is geared to parents, family members, and caregivers, but is open to anyone. Admission is free.
On April 13, she will present "Creating Positive Outcomes: Teaching Autism Life Skills." Consumers and family members of services from Florissa, Kreider's children's division, can attend for $40, while educators and other professionals can attend for $95. Continuing education credits will be available, and the fee includes lunch.
Registration is required for either session.
